Engagement!

On July 21st, 2007, David asked Kristin to marry him, and she eagerly said YES!! :) Her parents went with them to a beach in Guaruja, Santos (Brazil), where the spent the afternoon. Kristin had always dreamed on getting enagaged on a beach in Brazil, (with guitar!) and the proposal fulfilled all of those dreams and so much more!! David sang her a special song he had a written for her (while playing guitar) and when he got to the last line, said he needed her help to finish the song. He told her to open the journal he had given her just moments before, and there in the last pages was carved out a heart, with a beautiful ring nestled in the middle of it!! Kristin was dumb with surprise as David took the ring, kneeled and asked her to marry him!! :) We are SO thankful for what God has done, and we cannot wait to see how He will continue to lead us. We will be married at Faith Baptist Church in Taylors, SC on June 14th, 2008.

Music Conference in Brazil

David went to Brazil a second time in June, '07. He spent his first week there with Kristin and her parents at a music conference which was held at the Bible college where Kristin teaches, located in the city of Curitiba. Their were several American guests, including the key speaker, Tim Fisher. Kristin and David both partcipated with special music, as well as instrumental and vocal seminars.

David had the opportunity, along with his parents and sister, to visit several church families during his stay there. Don Hugo, a former Communist and Athiest, and his wife are a remarkable tribute to God's saving grace. Soledad and Romelio, along with their two beautiful children, represent a beautiful but sin-torn family. They both have many spiritual and practical needs.

Andrew Krape, Karen's boyfriend, arrived in Antofagasta to visit her and get to know our parents. He is here for another week.

Daniel and Angelo's return from Monterrey

Angelo and Daniel Salvatierra, two of the young men that David grew up with at his home church in Antofagasta, Chile, returned to Antofagasta on Wednesday, June 13th. They have both been students of Theology at the Christian University in Monterrey, Mexico, called the UCLA. Daniel finished his degree and is here to stay awaiting the Lord's next step for his life. Angelo will return for his last year in August.

I went to Rio de Janeiro for a weekend Ladies' conference with my mom. I was able to teach and present a sacred concert with my Mom!

These are pictures from the concert that we were able to participate in at the Seminario Bautista Regular do Sul. There were about 150 people in attendance, representing some 10 churches in the area, in addition to the student body and Seminary's faculty/staff.

In Brasil

In March, David came down to visit me in Brasil!! We got to spend a weekend at my home in Sorocaba, then spent a week in Curitiba.
